I think this comes from the non-rev policy that exists at most legacies which asks that all crew hitching a ride let pax get off first. Try getting up and blocking a pax on a Delta flight and you'll definitely get some looks from their guys. Just sayin...

There's a difference between complying with a policy, and liking the policy. I'm not a huge fan of cleaning when non-revving. My dislike of it has nothing to do with me being a pilot, however. I do not believe that pilots should get special treatment. I pretty much douse myself with hand sanitizer after crossing even one seatbelt. But as I said, I do prefer it to some of the alternatives, one of which is a fee.
There just needs to be a few voices speaking up to keep these boards from becoming echo chambers. The most bitter on here are not in the majority, though they think they are because 5-6 on here post all the time and the more reasonable amongst us are ridiculed until we stop posting. Well, I don't give a crap what they think, so I keep letting them know that there are others who think differently than them, and who are more reasonable than them.
The majority of our pilot group wants improvements, and supports ALPA. We want change, and change is happening. But we aren't bitter, or hate the company. We enjoy our jobs. This doesn't make us anti-labor or in opposition to ALPA. This us versus them mentality some on here espouse is not productive, and only serves to divide the pilot group.

Most guys I fly with or talk to are fed up with the bs mounting here.
The discussion usually starts like this: "I like the guys I fly with and Im not a burn-it-down guy, but Id leave tomorrow if one of the big 3 call"
Very few I speak to expect a decent TA anytime soon and if guys are not looking, its because they feel too old to start over.
You're not going to hear things like that at the bluejuice schoolhouse, but its common flying the line.
Btw "us vs. them" has been implemented by the company-they are the dividers.
Fly a few trips on the line, and you may get a better sample of opinions.
Im not miserable here, but when I see the contracts of our counter-parts at the real airlines, I realize that "culture" is total bs and just a way for B6 to brainwash newbies, (and some senior guys)- and I wanna kick my own @55 for buying into it for a while. Good luck to you and all of us Southern- I hope jetblue becomes the place that you believe it to be- And I hope this is my last summer here.

Yes, but youre supportive of having pilots perform janitorial services. Can you see why you draw some ire ?
You're an instructor right? Is the schoolhouse filled with pro-cleaning guys like you?
I hope you can see the many problems that have appeared lately.
This isnt an attack, but your feelings and beliefs are in opposition to most guys flying the line. We're sick of the bs Southerner and B6 has a major problem that's only going to grow.

Maybe he is the same pilot/instructor who came out of flight deck during cruise to shake hands with the mosaic customer. Yep, on my last deadhead this idiot comes out of the bathroom, moves the cart and starts glad handing the mosaics he saw on the flight attendant form.
