Is SkyWest really that much better of a place to work?
In it's day, you would have to say it was one of the best. But that day was long ago. Sadly we are so far back on the compensation curve that I would never believe we could ever get close to the others.
Our training that I would have put on par with some of the majors has massively diminished. Huge moves to cut costs has put the burden on the student to self learn much via home study. Although the systems test has been dumbed down and most pass.
Our technology front is a leading effort if the year was 1995' Simply put itis incredibly unreliable. The day they put the MX can on these POS units will be a sick day for me, for sure! Read= investor confidence drop.
Credit to block loss is 5.9%, subtract that from our hourly pay when comparing to all the others.
I could go on, and on.......

I'm trying to make a simple comparison table of expected annual pay for an inexperienced FO (no ATP or type ratings) starting at a regional. Following is the table I have using the information available here at APC using 75 hours monthly.
SkyWest appears to be quite the outlier. I've asked a SkyWest recruiter if there are any bonuses in the future. The answer is "probably not for inexperienced folks" because "they have no trouble filling classes as is." This is a pretty big difference between regionals. One would expect the market to force equalization. I don't understand why it does not.

Recruitment #s are down and attrition is up and their day as the place to be has passed for the moment.
It’s not a bad place to work for if you live close to one of their bases... otherwise you can find places that pay more and/or have better career pathways.

I'm getting close to jumping into the regional chaos, and can say OO hasn't even been on my radar due to the abysmal pay...and I live in a Jr. OO base. AWAC or Envoy are currently topping my list. Lots can change in 6 months though.

Ya that’s not gonna work. If they don’t hit at least between republic and endeavor rates the gave will be over as we lose more quality applicants.

I’m so fed up with management and how this place is slowly going down the tubes that the only thing I’ll vote yes on is ALPA.
Death by a thousand cuts!
