If the WOs are able to grow and take over that flying does that not bode well for SkyWest in DFW?

I have a buddy in hiring over at Envoy. He's convinced when everything is said and done, it'll be the AA WOs, Republic and SkyWest doing American Eagle flying. Take it for what it's worth.

Not necessarily. The majors love to whipsaw their regional pilots against each other. Sure they could whipsaw their three regionals, but I'm sure there's no way they could staff everything that they'd want to. Back in 2001, Delta owned Comair and ASA. Each of them dominated their respective hubs, CVG, DFW, and ATL. Comair pilots went on strike for 89 days and basically shut down CVG. They got a better contract but, that's when Delta brought in a few more regionals and started mixing up the flying. Anyone remember Freedom?

No recruiter can predict which regionals will be standing in the end. A single serious accident will put any regional out of business - even wholly owned ones.

That's why I said "he's convinced".

I am planning to fly the Ejet, but I live in Dallas. I have no desire to fly the CRJ (sorry, CRJ lovers). I know I will initially end up at a junior base, but eventually will transfer.

My wife is a doctor here locally. So, my career will always take a backseat.

What is the best Ejet base for commuting from Dallas? What are the pros and cons of each base? I see Alaska Ejets in and out of Dallas Love all of the time. And, I see United Ejets at DFW.

There were rumors at one time that we'd open an ERJ base at DAL. I really don't see that happening since we're actually losing some of that flying. ORD is fairly Jr as far as the 175 is concerned but the DFW - ORD commute is a notoriously difficult one.. I'd recommend DEN. Alittle more sr but better flying and easier commute imo.

In the grand scheme of things. Is that going to stop you from signing a 12 year CPA with AA.... doubtful...

Ditto that. I belive its going to go more Jr than people are believing right now. After everybody who has their initial bid in now gets in, and we get the full 20 jets on property I forsee it going to newhires on the fo side and being the equivalent of MSP or ORD on the CA side. Not quite as Jr as DTW or ATL.

Commuting to any of the 175 bases will be much worse than flying the CRJ where you live. I have commuted for 12 years 11 of those at SkyWest, it takes away so much QOL. If I would have lived in a SkyWest base, I probably would have never left.
