I know I will initially end up at a junior base, but eventually will transfer.
Senior bases are much better to commute to.

What is the best Ejet base for commuting from Dallas? What are the pros and cons of each base? I see Alaska Ejets in and out of Dallas Love all of the time. And, I see United Ejets at DFW.
It would really suck living in an AA hub and not having AA flight benefits. It would make your commute just that much less predictable as well.

I assume I will have to commute for a short period to a junior base, ORD or LGA. It sounds like DEN is the best base to commute to from Dallas.

I am a bit surprised no one mentioned LAX or SAN.

You can get LAX and SAN is within a few months of finishing training, but that commute is half way across the country. It’s doable, but both those domiciles are more senior than DEN and ORD.

If you take the ERJ you will hate yourself for that decision. Trust me, take the CRJ, drive to work. You’ll thank me later.

Spoiler alert -

AA loads out of DFW are trash. Every day. Ask me how I know.

Any ideas as to how many crew members we will have there? I’ve been here just under three years and the girlfriend and I are debating whether not to move there since her family is there. My hope is that I could hold captain there a few months after moving but I’m apprehensive about moving there when we don’t know for sure.

The first bid is for 29 CA’s / 29 FO’s. But they said it will be 20 aircraft. Thats 120~ FO’s when its fully open. As of right now only 45 have a bid in with DFW as there first choice. I bet by fall it’s going to NH’s..
