Most junior FO’s who have the hours. Although I’m not sure how many junior FO’s have the hours so this will probably affect some of the senior FO’s as well I imagine

Its forced upgrades top down. Inverse seniority as TG indicated.

The next SAPA conference call will be a good one I’m sure! Add this to the long list of reasons OO pilots require a union representation.

I didn’t see myself ever leaving SkyWest, but the years and years of BS coming from TG, management and SAPA is comical. By no means funny, but it got so bad there, the only way to keep sane is to laugh at how screwed it all was.

Quit, go find QOL & pay elsewhere. Join a pilot group with representation and have management who is held accountable to a contract.

huh? Union representatiion didn't stop forced upgrades from happening at other regional carriers a few years ago. What does union representation have to do with it?

Also, OO pilots can't even get 51% of their pilots to vote no on a crappy TA so how the heck are they going to get a majority vote for a union when they're already very, very happy with what management is offering them.

That’s not what inverse seniority means. They’ll involuntarily fill classes from the most junior eligible pilots up.

We don’t even have to wait to find out, inverse seniority is literally from junior to senior (otherwise they’d just say “by seniority”).

It’s just like how crew support calls reserves in inverse seniority.

Hell, years back at PSA, ALPA was the reason forced upgrades started in the first place. They surprised everyone with an email saying they had agreed to most-senior forced upgrades with no pilot input, only a few days prior to the company utilizing it. Best of all was the fact they explicitly gave up any base displacement protections with it. But hey, at least the senior MEC members were able to flow a few months earlier.
