Hello,

A little out of the ordinary question but, can you as a Skywest pilot use the physical jumpseat if the flight is full to Canada ? I know a couple airlines allow it with a pre listing on the manifest by operation control/ dispatch.
Also, what is the priority as a Skywest pilot on a Skywest plane ?

Thanks a lot

No, as far as I know only LCAs that are doing a line check can occupy the jumpseat during international operations. And SkyWest employees, not just pilots, are supposed to have priority on our OO metal over other airlines employees.

This is incorrect. You can definitely get an app review by having your buddy send an email to pilot recruiting.

Is it possible to get more than 11 days off as a lineholder? It seems like schedules are really full for most people.

Hey hey!! It’s getting crowded here. No more dropping now on the 175. At least at ORD

Republic guy here who recently upgraded and will never see Chicago again. Sick of sacrificing way too much of my personal time commuting to LGA where it’s actually starting to affect things outside of work.

Obviously ORD is a big 170 base, but my goal ultimately is to move west. What’s your furtherst 170 base? Honestly, how do you like your company? I get it, it’s a regional they all have their pros and cons. But OO blows YX away in terms of base options and it’s not even close. I’m now convinced living in base is the highest QOL factor above everything else.

Literally just saw your website has all that info. But for real, what’s the daily grind like at OO?

SAN, LAX, SFO, PDX, SEA, BOI, SLC, DEN are all west coast 175 bases but also all are at least 4 years to touch the bases as a CA. movement is much quicker on the CRJ and if you are not willing to change planes the quickest upgrade here on the 175 is about 3-4 years in LGA/ORD. you will NOT have the QOL at OO as everyone at YX I talk to has but overall think it is not a bad company to work for.
