I totally get the argument and need to vastly improve Quality of Life better than what this TA did, but putting that important point to the side for a moment, congratulations to all on the very big pay raise!

Almost a slap in the face.

Now the pilot group just has to deal with the fact we gave up the greatest bargaining power we have ever had and likely will in our careers.

FO starts at 90 per hour. 401k match is not vested for 4 years for new hires.

We go no QOL enhancements. But that check will be crispy
I think the young FOs voted yes to get the pay for a bit and then get out as fast as possible. The lifers voted yes because of money and they already have QOL from seniority.

It's a gamble for the FOs because the hiring environment might change and we could get stuck with bad QOL.

It's a gamble for the lifers because this TA does not make it attractive to come here or upgrade. So eventually there will be more flying than pilots and it will suck for the senior guys too.

My guess is the pilot group will shrink as the CRJ flying goes away and that was the plan from SGU with this TA

By the looks of October schedule- I was able to drop multiple trips- we are over staffed on the ERJ in some bases on the FO side


It will be interesting to see what happens when all.the captains that stayed for their bonus leave in the middle of October and there will be no reason for any FO to upgrade until turbine PIC has value again. Maybe they force upgrades

You get flow, bonuses, and no metering to delta and united if you go to Envoy

You get more $ per hour if you go to MESA or Horizon

I guess we beat commutair, GoJet, endeavor, and Republic for now in terms of pay per hour.

lets see what happens. I doubt this TA will do anything to attrition. Maybe some folks won’t bail for an ULCC but even that may be just a marginal improvement.

Congrats everyone! New hires will be able to pay off all of their student loans before moving on to mainline! The best and brightest are going to keep on their dream career path because this career now pays!

While we didn’t get any QOL enhancements now, this is still one of the best jobs I’ve ever had including other flying jobs. But now that check will be bring real money.
I think the young FOs voted yes because they saw the time value of money and they know if the hiring environment changes they will get stuck with all the QOL they could want and the hours they do fly are at a much higher rate.
For the lifers this TA makes it more attractive for others to stay here waiting for D/U/A/S to call and for the best and brightest to come here.
My guess is we will hold on as the regionals contract around us.
You know the people who a few months ago went to the struggling regionals for the then leading LOAs now wish they had the stability, aircraft, and bases of skywest.
This is great for us and our industry and unlike all save Horizon, ours was VOTED in as a real TA!
