Anyone scheduled to start a CRJ class coming up in January/February/March?

Someone likes trolling.

Woes to new hires...pshhh. Just because they cancelled the EMB class does not mean the end of the world.

I'm so glad you can detect sarcasm so well, my friend- and yes, the remarks will continue until my status is change-able

Enough tomfoolery, however- I am sincerely curious, however, in hearing any insight regarding the growth prospects of Skywest in the next year for anyone willing to make a (however slightly) educated guess. Any line or reserve guys/gals see any trends for us uninitiated souls considering making the transition into the lucrative world of Regional flying.....

So if I sign a 1 year contract for another operator is my job offer still good at Skywest provided they are filling classes after my contract is up in one year from this Feb? If I explain this to them beforehand. How does this work? Keep in mind I am totally green so sorry if it sounds like a stupid question. This has really thrown a kink into what I thought would be a seamless transition seeing that I have an offer to PIC a King Air 200 around for an operator who's aircraft flies every single day.

Not sure about SkyWest specifically, but most allow you to defer one class for a later one, but if you defer twice, you'd have to re-apply... so you probably aren't going to be able to milk the offer for a year+...

If I were you I would call them in HR and explain your situation and talk about the possibility of a CRJ class for you. They will help you.

I would also not give up a year of seniority at an airline to go to something else that isn't long term. Seniority is so so important it isn't worth giving up. I was furloughed from Eagle and shortly after I interviewed at RAH and they offered me a couple of class dates but I had the interview at SkyWest and had to wait a longer for a class date and in the mean time I needed money. so I worked delivery sprinkler supplies till my class date at SkyWest. We all need a job and money so I understand your situation. My point being SkyWest is worth the wait.

Denver -- giving up 9+ months seniority wouldn't be very smart unless your crystal ball says we won't be hiring at all during that time.

Call HR, get a jet class, do something else until then.
