I can't believe you would say that about anybody no matter how skilled you "THINK" you are. I actually remember who you are. I remember reading your posts on the SAPA forum telling your fellow crewmembers that they couldn't fly themselves out of a "wet paper bag". You sir are not unprofessional because you liked flying raw data green needles ILS's down to minimums but because you are a cocky piece of crap. Good thing you're in the NAVY because you don't belong in a 121 cockpit. The best part of all of this is my captain friends that flew with you said they had to baby sit you because you couldn't fly worth a crap.
I'm not at OO anymore but it's a shame that when I come back to read the skywest forum that I have to read your garbage.

I've hand flown a few raw data approaches too, but admittedly never down to mins...that makes the other guy too nervous.

Back in the day we did the group thing w/ a LOT of beers & no one had any issues. For upgrade we showed up w/ cases of good brew and grub from Costco...that was just a few week fiesta.
Take the advice....show up, listen, take notes, ask questions & enjoy the experience. SkyW was the most fun I've had in this crazy career.

In the email they send you it lists 3 books to "study". Of the three concentrate on Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot. If you're not familiar with Jepesen Charts study up on them. Be prepared to teach one of the systems on your current aircraft. Most of all be confident, humble, and yourself. The two major things that they are looking for are: (1) that you can make it through their ground school, and (2) that they would want to be on a 4 day trip with you. Here is a recap of the day for me:
0800 Escorted up to a conference room for a quick video and power point presentation on the company.
0830 Meet the interviewing team. They did a brief introduction and then each applicant did the same.
0900 Passed out multiple guess 50 question test. I scored a 54 on it so don't sweat your score.
0930 Did a CRM scenario with 2 other applicants. It lasts 7 minutes. It's not expected that you arrive at a decision in this 7 minutes.
1000-1200 They pulled 2 of the 7 out to fly the sim. Both of the individuals that flew were CFI's. Other individuals had their HR and Technical portion interviews.
1200 Had box lunches. Sandwiches, chips, and a cookie.
1245-1400 Had my HR then technical interview. HR looked at my paperwork and asked four questions. What was your favorite flight, least favorite flight, time you didn't agree with a decision, and have you ever been scared in the aircraft. They aren't looking for canned answers, just trying to get a feel for who you are. Don't make up a story, just be yourself and if you don't have an experience flying that meets the question, then use a real life example. Technical portion was pretty straight forward. They use the test you took to determine the questions they ask. Be able to teach one of the systems on your most current aircraft. This portion is to just insure you can make it through their ground school.
My group had 7 individuals. 2 military (1 female), 2 CFI, 1 electrical engineer, 1 current 121 guy, and an air ambulance. I believe everyone had their ATP.
Overall pretty relaxed atmosphere. Be yourself and don't suck and you'll do just fine....

"So you had all available reference systems available to you, but you chose not to use them because...?"
You don't get paid any extra to be a Yeager type. Save the raw data stuff for the sim or on visual days to practice.
Ahh I understand now. So referring to that individual, he/she does not have the most basic pilot skills. Still a weird saying, haha.
