More EMB120 reductions...in addition to the already cxl MOD/LMT service.

PDX-SEA, PDX-EUG, PDX-RDM, FAT-LAS and PSP-LAS will all be stopped this fall. Unfortunately, these reductions will impact our PDX EMB domicile effective with the schedule change Sept. 2, 2014.

Also, announcing a new maintenance base to open in BOI...currently finalizing construction plans.

Untied benefits suck... they're almost pointless. Plus, any UA employee can bump us on our own metal using their seemingly endless vacation passes. That's why I urge everyone not list for a SkyWest United flight more than an hour prior to departure... once you get inside the 60 min window, the mainline employee cannot change their listing to SA0V bumping you. Once they see SkyWest people listing SA0X they immediately start changing. We NEVER get bumped on our own metal when flying Delta, mainline can't even use their S2.

I've also been wondering what's going on with the trickle upgrading. We're not much better off on the FO side in the junior domiciles though. MSP had 0 FO reserve lines for June and IAH has 7.

It's kind of a Catch 22. Staffing may be part of the reason they can't upgrade, but if they don't pick up the pace no one will want to come here with an 8+ year upgrade.

Actually if you read the posting it says bases outside of ORD are not announced yet but announcements will be made in the coming weeks. For now its still only a hub officially.

Ouch...

Dear Crewmember,

Today SkyWest announced that certain routes will be discontinued due to lack of profitability and increased costs, effective with the Sept. 2, 2014 United schedule change. As you’re aware, recent regulatory changes within the industry have increased total operating costs, putting additional pressure on underperforming markets. We continue to evaluate all markets on a regular basis with our partners to ensure we’re able to maintain sustainable and profitable flying.

This reduction will affect all EMB Captains and EMB First Officers based in PDX. These decisions are not easy and we will do all we can to make this transition as smooth as possible on you and your families. With growth and opportunity throughout the system, crews will have options as outlined in the Pilot Policy Manual SP 3022. Moving Expense Reimbursement (MER) will apply according to Company Policy Manual SP 65. Please note that relocation incentive is not applicable as there is no location designated for incentive.

And since PDX is a very senior base (or so I understand) that will certainly have a ripple effect on the more junior EMB guys, right?

Guess it's the jet for me...

Nothing is very senior as far as EMB FOs go. I imagine most of the senior EMB pilots who live in PDX would take transitions to the RJ rather than stay on the Brasilia.

I wonder which bases will be next. SBP? SFO? PSP?
