But are these net fleet reduction numbers, or do they not take into account new airplane orders?

They do not include new aircraft. The 40 United E175 that are still coming in are not included. Also not mentioned is that the Whistling $h*t-Can of Death will be reduced from 45 to 40 airframes.

Having been given that option, I chose SKW. Very happy I did! I would have made more money initially at PSA (ironic, isn't it?), but the company culture there didn't feel right to me.

As for fleet reductions....it seems that, so far, management has been successful in finding other work for the 200s. I'm sure we'll see some go away. Hopefully at about the same rate as E175 replacements.

People have been saying SkyWest is going to lose flying and downsize for years and years. Like that elusive pilot shortage, I'm still waiting to see it :P

How's class? I just started studying for the EP&L's test on Day 1...

It's fun man! Everyone has treated me very well so far, things are run very well here.

You will need to quote that EP&Ls verbatim, so study it hard. Make sure you can fill the blanks in!

The one that gets you through the Tijuana grade punking called the regionals. SKYW is the big unknown with a 7+ year upgrade, today.
That could be a million dollar difference and years of angst at the end of your career. Select carefully.

90 block hrs, and 13 days off. Vacation makes it palatable, but having done an extended tour as a reserve, I will quit before doing anything more, than a few days on reserve ever again, it's that bad!
The morons who say if you just talk to so and so she can make it better, are just dumb, plain dumb. Reserve is a hades that makes an Alabama chain gang look like fun.
