I'd say those are good guesses with XJT being reduced out of both IAH and ORD. Small possibility you may see the 175 out of SFO, after all it's a United hub and RAH doesn't have a base that far west.

Actually it might be a good move for anyone who been stuck here for years and wants to move on, it would show that you're still trainable.
Not sure I'd give up weekends off on the RJ to fly that plane at a lower seniority

Although, I wouldn't mind learning a newer avionics package that is similar to the aircraft at the next level

, oh, and the 170-175 is still and will always be a REGIONAL jet not a transitional jet!! Who came up with that!? [/QUOTE]

First I heard of that was an Asa/sure jet/xjt pilot called us that on ground. We had a good chuckle in the cockpit and thought the guy was an idiot.

The best part of the 170? Both of our overnight bags have a spot on the flight deck. No overhead bin, no jamming it in that little closet...really that is the best part.

Depends on how they're configured. Most of ours have space behind the captain's seat, but some have this little plastic organizer deal. There isn't any room behind the FO seat because of the observer oxygen and com panel. Oh and of course W&B doesn't consider the bags being there so they are not allowed per the FOM. Maybe OO will be different though.

I spoke with someone within UAL management and was told there for the EWR, IAD and ORD markets. Let's face it there the bases that make the money and that's your new bases. Enjoy EWR will be looking forward to you guys getting a taste of East coast living and a smaller paycheck. You gotta pay your fair share to our indigent, and they do deserve the fruits of your labor. 54% total tax rate is in your future.

Why would I possibly move to the east coast? I'd rather fly the bro in Cali than move (or even commute) for an e-jet. I don't know why some people think this airplane is such a hot commodity. To the company yes, but not to pilots (other than growth or at least replacements for 200's).

If I lived in California I would just stay on the Bro or CRJ. People who want to live on the East coast will take the 175 if those are the bases. Skywest has a lot of domiciles. No one here is going to commute from California to the East coast just to earn a few extra dollars per hour. I make more money holding a solid line on the Bro than I would on reserve on the RJ anyway.
