Skywest buying 100 E175

wow- it really sounds like it's crickets in the forest for everyone at Skywest right now.
this whole unstable cycle really is like sitting in Los Angeles or New York traffic to me... You can see the exit, but ******, it's torture to move to it so slowly.

Are any Brasilia pilots out there at Skywest chomping at the bit to move in to a fancier cockpit like the CRJ or E175? Are they still doing transitions right now, even though they're not running new hire classes, or is it just all quiet in the training dept (other than recurrent)
I'm sure there are... When I was on the Brasilia I really didn't care either way about the airplane I was flying, perhaps because I'd already got the SJS out of my system many years prior. But the pay difference after year one is very substantial, and the trips are easier. As with a couple of years ago, there will be a lot of Brasilia guys in the CRJ classes when hiring resumes.

I'm in the Jet and I sometimes wish I was in the Bro, I would have a line instead of being stuck on reserve, that west coast flying is the some of the best there is, and RJs are overrated anyways.

There are a few chomping at the bit for a 30-40% pay raise to fly half as many legs. Nobody who's been here a year+ on the Bro has any SJS, at that point they want money and QOL.

I don't care about the fancy cockpit. I would hold a better line on the Brasilia than I could on the RJ so if I lived in base I would stay on it. The RJ pays a lot more and I live in an RJ domicile though so I'd like to get off the Bro asap.

Looks like Skywest is starting Crj and Brasilia classes July 8 so it looks like the greasing of the skids has begun for the introduction of the e 175 to the certificate. Anyone hear any speculation on how soon they'll be intruducing 175 transition bids to the schedules? It would seem it would have to be at least a few months prior to first delivery of equipment but also a not easy to perform transition.

Our most recent official statement has said the first 175s will be on property in April and start flying in June. There probably won't be transition bids until the end of winter. It's actually kind of interesting that they're running a new hire class right now because those pilots will come online around September just in time for the slow season.
