Skywest vs Envoy

All this talk about flight benefits makes me wonder...
1. Sure, the flight is free, but the hotel ain't. On FO pay, who can afford to go anywhere fun?
2. To travel internationally, especially nonrev, you need a solid week off. In the era of min days off each bid period, this ain't happening unless you're pretty senior.
3. On my days off, the LAST place I want to be is the airport.
Choose your airline based on plenty of factors, but choosing one for the travel 'benefits'? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. YMMV...

As an Envoy pilot, I can get the last 2 seats on an AA 777 Flight International First class with my girlfriend, before a 35 year AA pilot and his family while they get stranded overnight, "If" I check in first. Which is quite easy to do and I do all the time, using technology and being on top of things.. (stuff that some older people are usually behind in).
Our travel benefits are 100% equal to AA pilots. Except for actual cockpit jumpseat priority, they always get 1st priority on their metal, we get 1st priority on ours.

Me and my family have been traveling the world since day one. Our very first trip was to the Cayman Islands a couple of days after passing my newhire checkride. Then in that first year alone we traveled to Paris, Chicago, and New York.
Since then we have visited every Continent except Africa, every European country except for 4, multiple cities in Brazil and Argentina, not to mention all corners of the United States including Hawaii.
We travel on vacations and any time I have a stretch of days off. Every other month or so I can get a stretch of 10 days off at the end & beginning of months.
Yeah, unless you work for Envoy you have no idea how good travel benefits at the Regional level can be. And if you want cheap places to stay checkout vrbo.com

I hate to spend days off in airports, but it usually means I am doing something fun with my family. It gives my kids a chance to see things they would not normally experience and makes the crap I put up with bearable. Other airliners with enforcible work rules can usually get 7-10 days out of a couple vacation days. And there is a reason that SW Inc wants to take it away so bad. If you get relief from your moonlighting gig and can get 3 or 4 days off, give it shot. It's fun to go to the airport with absolutely no plan but to get on the first flight that is open. That is the next thing my kids and I are going to do. Of course, it will probably be at my next gig when I can actually get some planned time off and not have to work extra to make up my hours the rest of the month. But a good mini vacation does the soul good. Happy traveling!!

Hello all, does anyone have insight on when a candidate interviews for and is offered a cjo with Envoy, if they will be given a choice of airframe? Would one know what airframe they would be on at the point a cjo is given? I'm at 1350 tt and plan on interviewing in a month. Not a huge deal, just curious. Thanks
