I looked but can't tell from seniority number, is the latest EMB upgrade time still roughly parallel to the CRJ? Or is it going more senior?

Nobody has upgraded onto he 175 since end of summer 2015, all that's happening now is transitions from CRJ left seat to 175 left seat.

The reason the 175 upgrade is senior right now is because training is occurring for senior bases, LAX SEA PDX, with Alaskan flying switching from CRJ to ERJ people don't have a choice but to transition if they want to remain in their base.
My 2 cents in choosing a regional right now is choose one that you can be happy at long term, upgrade times change dramatically at every regional. Right now compass is the only one that offers a faster upgrade and that's even a question mark if you read their thread on what could happen on their west cost operations, (express jet, republic, endeavor are much longer), psa can't retain FOs fast enough so upgrades are stalling and Mesa seems to be losing CRJs, my point is don't choose based on upgrade. Skywest upgrade is hovering just below 4 years on CRJ, ERJ upgrade is high right now until the senior bases are filled at which point they will have to backfil the junior base of Chicago and at that point it will be the same as the CRJ most likely.

^^^^ this is spot on. Also try to find a place where you can / want to live in base ...
That beats quick upgrades and shiny jets any day.

Won't mean a thing when the small rj flying is replaced almost entirely in the next few years by DL and UA as they take possession of the planes they ordered. Quadrupling the 175s wouldn't help. I'm getting as much flying in as I can to be ready to leave. Hopefully upgrade before the upgrade time soars again
