(And you'd need to be qualified, online, and in the domicile you plan to stay in in order to get to bid. -- You lose your vacation slot when transferring.)

This is correct. You accrue vacation but can't use it until year two. On my anniversary date my bank suddenly jumped from 0 to 20 hours or so. Also it's good to note that in places like msp there's so much turnover that as an FO there's usually a fair amount of open vacation slots, as long as it's not a holiday or something highly desirable, you can request a vacation day two months out as long as you have vacation hours to burn. But again, that wouldn't be until your anniversary date :(

When I was on first year, twice crew support moved my reserve days around so I could attend weddings. Rare, but an option.
Depending how fast you get a class, getting out of sim before then could be a pinch.

$40 million profit. That's pretty good. I only listened to part of the earnings call.

Bonuses are up. Better than usual.

There's a CTP class Sept 10th and a CRJ class Sept 19th. What are the odds of getting the ATP written done before class if I take the class on the 10th?

Lvl410 07-28-2016 05:09 PM

It is doable , there is a testing center right across the street from flight safety . Couple guys in my ctp class had a day to get the written done before class .

I hope it's doable, those are the classes I'm in. Anyone else here in that boat with me?

The CTP course is really laid back, you show up and take it in, and then go to your hotel and study sheppard air. I took the written 3 days after CTP on a Friday and then started ground school the Monday after that. It's a little optimistic to get in that September 19 class with the September 10 CTP because CTP is 4 days of class and 3 days of sim. the problem is they only have 5 sims and usually 30 to a class, so some do sims the day after the ground and others had 3 days off before starting sims, so if you were scheduled with the days off you wouldn't be able to get in the September 19 ground school. My reccomendation is get in the CTP before September 10. Oh and do yourself a favor and pick up sheppard air now and begin the studying.

Bryan you would have to email whatever recruiter you've been in contact with to make sure your CTP sim is right after CTP ground. Cornerstone Aviation is right by the comfort inn and flight safety. You have to schedule the ATP written through cats if you want to take it there. I was one of the unfortunate in our class. I had 3 days off between CTP ground and CTP sim. I've been in SLC since the 11th. Email your recruiter, if you can blaze right through CTP without days off between them you could do the written before class. Not enough time to go home though, so pack for 6 weeks.
