May hire not holding a line? That doesn't sound unreasonable.
If they had sim immediately after ground they still wouldn't take their checkride until mid July. Finishing IOE mid August they would only have been on reserve a couple weeks.
The bid period beginning tomorrow would be the first time they could actually bid..whether or not that's with a line or on reserve

He's talking about actual lines numbers. Not who is or isn't in base.

Pbs info for October is not up.

So don't look at it as omg 80 upgrades.its 40 crj upgrades and possibly a few 175.

I think there will be more than a few 175 upgrades over the next two bids because of the holidays and seat locks from last year. There's quite a few after dates, seat locks, and pilots only bidding one domicile. I think it'll go back to a trickle starting in Jan, but the next two bids might be interesting.

Now that those UA 700's have a home with American and Delta I think we may see a slight uptick in upgrades for the next couple months.

Uptick? As in more. No, they are already staffed... Just new paint and magazines... Attrition and E175 growth are driving the Upgrades..

You don't think that in planning they slowed down the upgrades slightly until the 700's were actually placed with another carrier? Meanwhile attrition and 175's covered the slow reduction until those airframes were placed. Just a thought....

By slowing upgrades you mean still had 40 crjs a month? Because it's been that way since the beginning of the year....
