Ok, I don't have a SSN yet so can't tell if it's high or low.

How do you not have a Social Security Number?

I've never lived in The US before so will apply for one on arrival

That settles that. No pilot shortage huh management?

I'm Australian so it doesn't cost SkyWest anything for my visa. I have flown around the world and have a few thousand hours

Still leaves about 10-15 that need to go somewhere. I'd imagine more will go to ORD.

They're going to be dramatically increasing the ORD AA flying. Back earlier in late spring/early summer we had one month of AA -700 flying. They were really awesome pairings too. SLC locals (6+ hrs), MSY, FAR, ALB, FWA overnights. There were a bunch of 26-30 hour 4 days. And 6+ hour stand-ups. All very efficient, and good paying trips.

If you need time off for a big life event you can talk to your instructors about who to email to try to work it out JW or the ladies in the office will try to help you if they can. SIMS are kind of backed up so you should have some flexible options for bidding something that can work for you. Talk to your classmates and explain the situation. If those senior to you are flexible and not turds they can help you out. You bid live in order in class from top to bottom. Best of luck.

Hi all do you think a new hire could get SEA or PDX next spring?

Oh don't misunderstand my post! I love JB22 and his ecclectic style. I haven't heard from him/her in a while! My post was intended to lure him out of his lair!

So I guess that makes ME the troll here!!!

Great news for SkyWesters.

Hopefully JB22 can upgrade before he loses his job one day to the incredible shrinkage that is clearly around the corner!

Hopefully. Cause the fleet reduction is only a few years out. Those that have done the research know that. That's why so many are flocking to the low tiers like frontier, JetBlue, virgin. Spirit, atlas, kalitta, allegiant and so on. They can't get hired at a legacy and are scrambling for anything. Better for me as I'll upgrade and move on.
