This month I was awarded 92 hrs, 17 days off with a couple vacation days. I'm in the 30% CA range in DTW.

Thanks, Is Atl going to be a senior base ?
I don't know much about skywest. |
By a couple you mean 3-4, and you're top 30% in base. It shouldn't require using 1/3 (that's right, we get 12 a year at that seniority) of your yearly vacation to get 17 days off..

Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk At what seniority do you only get 12 vacation days? At xjt, a second year pilot is getting 14, which is industry standard. I know you guys are the most productive but I didn't realize you were that productive! |
3.85% of credit is accrued. Let's say you get worked 90 hours a month, that's 41 hours of vacation for the year.
We "get to" pay 2.5-4 hours per vacation day as we see fit. So you're looking at 10-16 days a year. For anything below 5 years. Of course senior guys get it better. I'll post a screen. I used 7 days at 2.5 recently and ended up with 16 off. So stretching them by using them at 2.5 is not a good plan Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk |

What's your monthly credit? Making $125k while never picking anything up would be tough even at the top of the pay scale. If PBS assigns 95 hours, that's kind of like picking stuff up in a sneaky sort of way by the company
I was surprised at the pay too when I transitioned to jet CA. But that's the rough gross. PBS likes to assign 85-90, but I drop down (and drop trips) on the rare occasions it lets me. I think I'm getting more per-diem from multiday trips, and most awarded trips tend to actually block higher than scheduled. Our schedules do take me through flow-prone hubs a lot. |

Being based at SFO seems like at least a 10% bump. Not recommended for commuters however;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That seems like a ridiculously low amount of hours/days of vacation to me. I must be missing something.
I'll get about 80 hours a year to use. I can use it at a rate of 2.5 up to 4.0? hours per day. We get it as a pre assignment for PBS. I always select 2.5 hours per day so a week would take 17.5 hours. Now with PBS it's possible to get a couple more unpaid days off on either side or work the days right next to the vacation.. With 17+ years I get around 4 weeks off a year theoretically. The problem with using 2.5 is that PBS is still going to build you a 85-90 hour line. It'll force more flying onto your schedule to make up the difference. |
