Hey guys new hire here currently in Sim. It looks like I may need a second sim session which would put me into "special tracking". I've asked around and haven't gotten a clear answer as to what that would mean for my career after Skywest. I understand what it entails while I'm here. I know that its PRIA reportable but am unsure as to how future employers would look at it and if it would make getting selected for an interview less likely. Any insight would be appreciated.

People have lost their medicals due to alcohol, went through the processes, fixed them selves back up and moved on to legacy. You won't be on special tracking forever, study more chair fly more and put ST behind you. Be open about it when asked for hiring purposes. Own it, how you learned from it and made you be better and proof is it was a one time thing. I believe you will be fine, depending what else your past holds. But concentrate on the future to improve.

Ask the training manager. Two types of it... "faa special tracking" and "company" "special tracking". If all you need is extra sim prep then its not the FAA one.. FAA one is failed MV or LOE

I don't think the left seat stagnation would be any worse than what we have seen in normal non-hiring times. Like 2013, where some CA/FOs were on reserve for over a year. Or the 2007 hire/upgrades that sat for years.
While there is movement I wager it won't be bad.

Let's just hope that it keeps on that way! One mega accident, economic downturn or terrorist attack and this gravy train will precipitate to a swift stop.

I don't understand why a transition is a big deal, we get mixed in with the newhires and call it a day. I'm trying to look at it from an operational standpoint while leaving emotions out of it and it's not adding up. Newhires do FO on FO sim training so adding us into the mix doesn't really slow down anything or take up really any sim time in an appreciable amount. I think a better question would be how many 175 FO's in ORD have bids in for a West Coast base where staffing seems to be tighter? If they're not getting a transfer and were holding back 175 FO's in ORD from upgrading than that doesn't make any sense. Whatever anyways I'm going on vacation and was going to bring my books to study now I don't have to worry about that anymore lol.

Either a announcement for 175 flying in ORD is coming or they are honoring transfers out and leaving ppl that only want to upgrade? The latter seems unlikely.

Rumor has it.....

Isn't upgrade on the E175 three years now for SEA? No idea what it is for ORD. I saw a 2200 number upgrade in the latest bid award. Of course that could change as more senior CRJ CAs are lately putting in their bids.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Hopefully sapa can shed some light on this....
