Skywest v2.0

Hey guys,
I'm starting training in about a month and am looking at DEN since that is where I'm from. How long to get this on the CRJ side?

Am I understanding that right? They're not letting ERJ FOs upgrade into the CRJ? That is downright crazy.... What do we need so many ERJ reserves for? Are we about to receive more of them but they just have not announced it yet? I can't think of any logical reason why it would be so. If it makes our ERJ brethren feel better they have capped how many of us CRJers can transition over to the other side. Ugh

I know what the rationale is, I just don't agree with it. I agree with giving seniority to prior SKYW employees who actually worked here in some other capacity, but not for people who were hired off the street to be pilots but lacked a key qualification. If anything, they should be at the bottom of in-class seniority for having cost the company all that extra money.
Two dudes interview same day, one with 121 experience, an ATP, and a type in the same plane the company flies; the other is a Commercial/CFI with no 121 experience, yet he will end up being senior to the first guy simply because he was LESS qualified? It's wrong.
The seniority hit cost me when it came time to bid for sim, bid for domicile, and eventually vacation, upgrade, etc. It's just wrong.

Everything is subject to change. That 2 year upgrade can go to 5 in a heartbeat, or drop just as fast, that airframe could be sent to the desert. Betting on what happened 2 months ago is the same as buying last months Powerball numbers and thinking that they are anything other than numbers. If any domicile is staffed the way the company wants it, the only way in is by waiting your turn. Once a domicile is staffed, the only thing you will have a shot at is junior reserve, and that particular brand of joy.

Agree or not, it really doesn't matter what you think. SGU makes the rules and policies. Don't like the rules and/or policies, you have 2 choices, 1-establish a CBA to define how these scenarios are handled or 2-quit. It's really that simple. Don't like unions, here is your sampling as to what it's like. Now imagine you are at a legacy for the next 35 years, you really want to bet "the"company "will do the right thing"?
