Don't worry about the upgrade time. If you go to the E175 as a new hire, you can still take an earlier upgrade on the CRJ.

If you are offered a CJO at an interview but still have time to build, do you have to pick an airframe/class date at that time, or can it wait a month or so? I'm trying to figure out whether to go crj or e175 west coast (SFO>FAT>SEA>LAX). Is the reserve time shorter in all west coast bases on the crj? Are senior FO's transitioning over to the e175 now that the schedules are better? Meaning relative seniority progression for a new hire will be better on the crj?
Any help would be appreciated. |
TimetoClimb
FAT is a small CRJ only base if you weren't already aware. There are about 50 CRJ FOs that want to and should be able to transition over to the 175 right seat next year that also want to be out west. Most of those are already out west which should help with movement in that seat. There aren't any 175 FOs wanting to switch to the CRJ. Remember also that if you are planning on taking the first available upgrade it will be on the CRJ out of MSP, ORD, or DTW. Some time in the aircraft would be nice and make the upgrade easier. Upgrades or holding the left seat in a domicile west of MSP will take significantly longer. -- It looks like getting SFO on the CRJ shouldn't be too hard. Not a lot of pilots have it as there first choice. |

Atp-ctp
Does SkyWest require repayment of the ATP-CTP course if you leave prior to 24 months? Envoy stated that they require you to repay the $5000 cost if you leave prior to 24 months. Just curious. Thanks.

So what's the current CRJ reserve times/junior bases/holding a line?
I've got an offer for Skywest and PSA and trying to make the final decision. What makes OO so great they don't need bonuses? Wanting to hear what ya'll say vs what the recruiters told me. i don't happen to know anyone there so any info will be great. thanks. |
If choice of base isn't a problem for you, I say go with PSA man. Upgrade is roughly the same, and QOL are about equal. You'll make way more money at PSA, plus you have the flow as a backup.
