Three year upgrades on the 175 and the bid is still being processed.

Dang that's actually a pretty good idea lol

I drive for lyft on my reserve days. Have a bag packed and uniform ironed in the trunk.

Most big cities offer pretty good signon bonuses also if you complete 40+ rides. MSP is up to $500 now. The min bonus is $200.

Where were you based and how many hours flown/month? I just said yes to the 175 and I'm feeling like it was a mistake (Best coast vs years of my life to upgrade). I have essentially zero turbine time - trying to plan the next few years. Hard to find E175 info. Thanks!

You can upgrade on the CRJ when the time comes if you want it quicker. On one hand easier to upgrade on a plane you're currently flying, but that will be a shortened training course. If you upgrade on another jet, you'll get the full-length training course.

MajHam, it doesn't matter what aircraft you are hired onto, you can upgrade on either one. You can also transition (FO to FO) between the CRJ and 175 before you upgrade.

I've been hearing and reading the roomers on the other forum. Do you guys think its likely we'll pick up any of mesa's erj flying out of IAH? Also apparently united has 15 erjs left to award, any word on that?

I'd like to see that happen in IAH but I think the general consensus is Republic will pick it up.

Thank you both. But I thought you were seat-locked for the first 2 years as a new hire? They're going to train me again in the CRJ just because I feel like my career is moving too slowly in the E175 after a year or two? Has that ever happened? ...doesn't seem cost effective for them.

I had 2 ERJ captains in my CRJ new hire class. They don't have to do indoc again, just systems and sims. It happens frequently, from what I've heard, and may be a good move if you want another type on your certificate.

One year seat lock if the company chooses your plane. 2 year if you choose it.
