Just heard about Delta buying Skywest and sending the 717s for SW to fly, couldn't be more excited to head off for my class date!
My questions to those who could offer advice..
1. How would I go about switching my class from the CRJ to the 717, or will they do it automatically?
2. If in a couple years would it be possible to switch to something larger or is it based on the integrated seniority.
3. Is the purchase to mean that Skywest will remain a regional but wholly owned like Envoy or are we Just part of Delta now?
4. Can I anticipate being paid on the current Skywest pay scale of will I be paid on the delta scale, when will that become effective?
Thanks for the questions!

If you are already on property, you just have to put in a standing bid. As long as there is not company need to keep you in the CRJ, you will get it when your seniority can hold it. However, if it will reduce training events, then it will just go to new hires.

That's actually good for me as it keeps senior people from coming in ahead of me. Bad for seniority though. But I will take it.

They continually pit the pilot groups against each other and have us fighting each other vs finding unity. They are very good at it and we even have pilots that want to argue about how it's perfectly acceptable for us to get paid 2% less than what every other airlines gets for flying the same routes. Open time in my base looks like the elevator scene from The Shining, but management knows some will pick it up for 15% extra or they will just have a check airman fly it as an FO. The company is very clear with us that they will determine our worth and take what's left over to put gas in the houseboat and pay management bonuses.
Sorry to all those that will be bypassed again this month.

Y'all got hot karl'd!! We're not getting 717's, probably will fly all of the United 737s though as jb mentioned.
In all seriousness, are we still able to fill classes? I read that many places are not, including a younger friend of mine who indicated he was one of a class of 4 for another airline

If this number starts to thin however, it'll definitely get interesting since it seems recruiting is just barely keeping up with attrition with the pilots that are making it to the line.

Gotcha,it's going to be an interesting year for sure. Hurray continued "insufficient staffing, net reserve -20"
I believe there are over 60 in the most recent CRJ class that started this past Monday.

Serious question to this pilot group, when is enough enough? I'm not exactly sure what I mean by that, but more of a rhetorical question. Does anybody see a tipping point in the near future as to when people get ****ed off enough with this crap? (Specifically the blatant seniority violations, PBS "globalization", bare minimum staffing, and forced lines of 90+ hours every month)

Here's the thing about being bypassed: VD actually has to say you're "bypassed" for any of that language to mean anything. No openings in the 175 for current pilots = not officially bypassed.
