Lol what? I got 3 weeks off in a row this summer, on the days that I wanted, and have enough vacation time saved up to get paid decently.

We get 12 days a year..... (Roughly) so you've been saving a while.

That's it? Well I haven't even been here two years, so I couldn't use vacation my first year and I saved up all my vacation from year two. I worked my butt off to save vacation. I was awarded two weeks of vacation and then I saw a third week was available adjacent to my original vacation so I bid it and got it.

I averaged95 hours of credit in 2016. 3 hours a month of vacation, that's about what we accrue. So 2 years of 3 a month is about 72 hours. We'll call 3 hours per day of vacation that's 24 days. Hence why you were able to do that. But your bank is nearly depleted after it.

Yup, totally depleted. It better be a good vacation!

Bare in mind accrual rate increases with longevity.

you were awareded it because it was open. you will only keep it IF the month before you have enough time accrued to cover all the days. Read your manual homey. if you dont have enough time accrued they will take days off the end of your requested time.
