According to the Delta thread Jepp will be dropping Windows, so that will leave the Surface without a Jepview?

WesternSkies 06-11-2017 05:13 PM

What would foreflight do for us that jepp charts don't?
Flight view?
I have no experience with any of these.

WesternSkies 06-11-2017 05:28 PM

I can't believe I'm saying this,
But if CBTs and the future prospect of releases, mx can and deferrals can't happen on an iPad I'd rather keep the crap surface.

Go to company manuals, EFB tab, setup your data.

Flightview should be on all surfaces now, just like the updated company manuals apps.

I thought it was still in testing but my capt said it's available to everyone now. Must have missed the email.

It is still in test, they just want everybody to test it. Maybe because the designated testers have not been testing it much...because it's a PITA to use.

Gotcha. So far I like that I can pull up a release on my tablet but all the rest of the stuff takes too much unnecessary time, IMO. Especially on quick turns. I have just been going on and clicking the release and that's pretty much it.

I for one used it for no more than 4 legs before it wore me out trying to activate/deactivate flight legs. Definitely not worthy of a quick turn yet

It really just depends on how much you want to work. One guy I know made about 60k his first year, but he worked for it. He is the type that picked up trips on open time for OT and things of that nature. And I know people that have made their mins because they didn't want to do extra work. I am not sure what the actual average is though.

I pick up flying twice a month (2 locals at about 6-7 hrs credit) and walk away with around $2,600/month. If I don't it's around $2,200/month. Still on reserve as well and have about $100/paycheck taken out for health insurance.

Hope that helps. All after taxes.
