I'm really not interested in turning this into an Envoy thread. Bottom line - management there has reneged on their promises time and time again. If you have an understanding of AA history and still believe this time will be any different you're a fool.
You have oversimplified a very complex situation that occurred with several different management teams over a bankruptcy and a merger and one that has changed significantly since your timeline ended. You are also completely ignoring market forces and a clear AA staffing model. |
If your going to look at Envoy. Look back at 1997. Sign this 16 year contract or no jets and no flow through!!! That was drama!!

I would use caution with anything these "new players" with only a handful of posts have to say in this thread. Strange how everyone shows up when a pay package needs to be moved on?

invalidpairing is not wrong though. The way AA and flowthroughs with Eagle (Envoy) has had a rocky relationship. Sure, now is probably a good time to go and hopefully for the foreseeable future, but the fact that Envoy and the others were whollyowned was a reason I didn't apply to those places. I came from Comair, where "being owned by Delta means everything." It's exactly why I chose Skywest back in 2011 when I found out I needed to start over. But 2011 was a different time. Now, if I was looking at regionals, I'd probably seriously consider one of the AA WO.

You got hammered because you said your class was threatening to quit for other regionals because you don't want to sit reserve. Yet you picked the senior jet that most people want and everyone knows reserve times are high. Then had the audacity to say your situation is different because you're prior military and you just want SEA and a line. Lol get real man.
Sorry bud, try again. If you wanted a line and to do the grind you'd be in Detroit right now on the CRJ flying 90hrs a month just like the rest of the guys on the grind. You just came into here with your entitlement saying you wanna go to Horizon. Good luck with your upgrade times. Let me just warn you to DO YOUR RESEARCH. Otherwise you will get hammered....again. And minimum wage? Jesus man. Seriously? This 00 aside. For you new ERJ FO's out there sitting in a reserve bucket of +20 over min in ORD. I have had success convincing Crew Support to do the reasonable thing and allow me to sit reserve out of domicile since in my case it proved beneficial to them. Come armed with the numbers if they are in your favor. This has allowed me to fly my arse off so far in June. I got launched off of reserve a few times (because they actually need reserves here) and I have picked up trips on most of my days off. So if your goal is to fly as much as possible, just asking has proven beneficial for me for the month of June. The worst they can do is say no. Hopefully the heard in ORD gets thinned out soon with new bases opening. |

Nope, not what I said. lighten up taco bowl.
Those were your word as you told us all you just got off IOE and you were so upset you're on reserve. Then proceed to say you wanted a grind to fly but picked a senior jet........... Horizon is hiring. Why didn't you apply? They have better pay. We're all waiting to hear it. Also, what state has $36.50 minimum wage? BTW, if you're buying tacos I like chicken. I'm free in Chicago for this month if you wanna hang? You should have time. PM me. |
I was talking to a few deprived newhire 175 FO's in the ORD crew room. Poor fellas finished IOE a month ago and are already headed home to the West coast. One guy was bragging about calling in sick 5 times already.
