It's because you're at a regional.

Bingo!! I subcontracted out my basment.. drywall giys did a amazing job. But I didn’t give them extra money... i keep the difference between there bid and the higher bids... if you want mainline composition and bonuses, go to mainline...

P.S. enough with the middle fingers on taxi QX. It’s getting old....

I fully apreciate their sentiment. Had I been 25 years at QX, seeing where it is going, I would be angry too.

I wish that we could all take $30k paycuts. Would do this job for free if it would please our masters. It would help us become even more profitable. I just want to see us take on more aircraft. Hopefully mainline gives in on scope so that we could start flying B737s and A320s.

Maybe if we still were “regionals” like back in the 90’s flying turbo props, making $40k as captains and that was your career expectation. Then we all would have drive to go to the Majors.. they gave up scope and a lot of us got comfortable flying a vnav shiny jet making 150k.... Lame. Some of us are trying....

Does anyone seriously ever say they should get paid mainline wages for regional flying? It's not unreasonable to get raises when your company is making more profits. And if your company is making the most profits than any other company in its industry, it's not unreasonable to be compensated the highest in the industry. Granted, that may only be Air wisconsin pay and benefits +$1, but at least it's better than being number three or four.

What great leverage did Skywest pilots use to get more money? Are one of the lowest paid regionals around now and have a pay freeze for five years? That leverage did a lot of good.

RemoveB4Flight 09-21-2017 05:35 AM

Skywest pilots don't know what leverage is.

The level of arrogance piled on top of the sheer ignorance of most of the regional pilots in here is remarkable.
Most of you can't spell basic words, yet somehow you feel your thoughts are worthy of sharing.
Flipping off other pilots must make some of you feel so big and strong.
Regional pilots are responsible for all of this. You should absolutely keep handing out the bird to other airlines' pilots. It's totally working.

Are you a pilot? Because you seem to be challenged by the simplest math. That "pay freeze" amounted to about an 8% increase in total compensation for me this year and 2 to 3% after that. I would put my W2 up against any other regional pilot's. Pay rates are secondary to work rules and soft time.
