Default LUV: "Can't Work With" List?

There's a rule on Southwest Airlines that permits pilots (and perhaps other staff) to list up to three other colleagues that they won't work with. Does anybody on this forum know the name of this rule? Where could I research more information on this?

Do other airlines have anything similar?

Thanks, -Nina

First officers can submit up to three “avoidance bids” for captains they don’t want to fly with. It doesn’t mean you can’t be assigned to fly with them on reserve or after a re-route, only that you won’t get the same line. Captains can’t avoidance bid first officers. I have no idea if something exists for other employees but I doubt it.

No, but you can always insist that the FO put you on their Avoidance Bid list

Only if you make it into the top three

Common for most airlines. And most pros understand that if you are bad enough to fly with, we aren’t flying with you no matter what policy is in place. Just saying.

The ones on the list are proud to be there. Management knows.

I don't put anyone on my avoidance bid list. I'm not willing to sacrifice my quality of life, work or paycheck because someone is difficult to work with. I've been paired with high avoidance bid guys/gals, and we usually understand each other very well by the second leg of the trip. Helps to be direct and not passive-aggressive.

This. I refuse to let some jerk dictate my schedule bc he hasn’t figured out how to play nice with others.
