A supply that is years away at best. Even then how is this better than going to a regional with flow?

I think a much better strategy would be to bleed the competition’s regionals dry one at a time, starting with regionals that haves bases at the same cities as swa.

[QUOTE=fortyeight;2863269]There are literally thousands of qualified and experienced pilots at the regionals that would KILL for a spot at SWA...

Xojet and swift air, awesome.[/

So , what are you saying?

This idea seems to be getting a lot of heat, but I’d go to XO if it meant I got a SWA spot in a couple years. I’m not a hero, but I’m a long way from a zero too, and it’s starting to feel like the majors are just a pipe dream without something like this.

Relax. You’re 4-5 years ahead of anyone that’s not even in this program yet. Take a deep breathe

There is a ton of risk involved. If you get accepted into this destination 225 program, go to Swift or XO and then don't get / pass the interview with SWA now you're stuck at a place you probably dont want to be long-term and from which it's less likely to get picked up by the legacies. I can't believe they're not at least giving guaranteed interviews to pilots who successfully complete the program. What is the incentive for somebody to apply to this?

Could be, but the joke's on the company in that case. We already always vote yes on industry lagging contracts.

I don't see this as anything other than smoke and mirrors, especially regarding Swift. (and I work there)

Any less risk than being stuck at Skywest or Envoy? We have had pilots and are still are having pilots picked up by SWA, Delta, UAL, AA, FX, and JB. Like it or not XO has a name in the industry and we produce excellent pilots who work at a place where the culture fits SWA 10 fold over your run of the mill regional pilot.

Default Fractionals

I don’t think going to work for XO is a gamble. There are quite a few ex-NetJets and Flexjet pilots at SWA and other airlines. So even if SWA fell through for someone at XO, they still are getting great hours and a fast upgrade (at least the last I heard it was).
