it will be years before we have a new contract. It will go to mediation after about 1-1 1/2 years. Then after 2-4 years you will see a new contract.

I haven’t filled it out yet because there’s no real urgency but my plan is the 5-year ExTO. I have no idea how senior it will go or how the VSP will shuffle the deck.
My personal budgeting allows for ExTO pay for five years but I will be seriously shocked if anyone who gets/takes it is actually out that long. But that’s in the calculus of every pilot who is interested. Five years is realistic for sure.
This is a gift of time, not money. Everyone needs to know how they value their time.

I wish I could. I am 46 with two kids in college and not quite to my retirement target yet. I would if I could. If the last couple of months have taught me anything it is that spending time with my family is much more rewarding than watching a flight attendant put together her 5 minute voltron robot bag ensemble while waiting to turn the lights out on the plane and go to the overnight.
10 more years? Maybe I would.
I don't mean to be insulting. You do you. I just know that if I had the means, I would be so outta here. This opportunity is once in a generation.

38 percent voted for TA1 that is about 2 out of 5. I think some of the ones you know are lying to you on how they voted .

Perhaps.. I'm primarily speaking of my classmates that started here about 6 years ago while stuck on OAK reserve (Check out the NO demographics from that group if you can find it). Funny thing though, should TA1 have passed, my plan was to bail for DL or UA and I'd be sweating a lot harder about getting furloughed right about now. Airlines are a crazy business and I chose this particular one for a reason.
Don't get me wrong, there are some incredibly intelligent regulars on the SWAPA forums and I do value their opinions from time to time . It'd be just nice if we could allow outside thought without attack.

I am not a fan of the SWAPA forum .Seems same guys are giving each other reach around 24/7 on that forum . I will not even get into the moderators. The SWApA forum seems to be run by the company, that is sad for a union forum . My only point on the 38 percent was that we have almost 40 percent that will vote yes to anything given to them . The company only needs to sway 12 percent to get what they want.

Just depends on the guy. My first month in PHX was interesting. Flew with Maverick, Mr. Lambo, and others. Had one guy explain his whole money management strategy to me and then went on to explain that I was not in the "wealth" management category yet. Yeah, I was making $52/tfp. You think, captain obvious?
