Get that premium this summer while it last. Avoid disappointment and future regret. Volunteer to go back early!!

Wonder if any of those Captains who were planning on being out for more than a year will just retire instead of coming back?

What's your bet on when they recall the 500 FOs? If things continue to improve I'm thinking they recall a couple of hundred in time for the holidays and the remainder in time for Spring Break next year.

Nice to see some positive news for a change!

I think we could see some more for August some upgrades in the fall (BW has apparently already said as much) and the rest in November. Either way, good news. The VSP and time to let natural retirements happen seem to have really helped to right size the seniority list.

I wonder about August. That would have them on the line by September - right when we don't need them. But maybe October to have them online for November and the holidays?

I see your point, but they're bring back 382 to train in July and have them on line as things start to wind down in August.

My thoughts, the company is expecting to not cut as many flights in the fall as we have in the Spring, so we'll be closer to our total aircraft flying. I believe this is something like 3800-3900 departures a day. I'd expect a significant amount (30-50%??) of business travel to start coming back in the fall. Also, I think we'll start hiring again in 2022.

SRC said maybe a few in November and if you dont get recalled by then you'll come back in the spring. 500 more guys just to fly a few hundred more flights seems like a lot. That's a pretty solid number of guys for July just to fly basically two weeks in Aug before it slows down again. I'd bet that's their holiday staffing right there.

I dont think any cpts will retire rather than be recalled. They'll come back and burn through all that sick time now they have seen what it's like not to be going Mach 2 anymore

I'd expect upgrades this fall when the training center has some room.

Just to clarify, is the Mach 2 during taxi or after lift off? Asking for a friend.

Default That Which Keeps Airplanes Flying

That which keeps airplanes flying and crews reporting will keep luring back the wishful people who continue to live the dream! We all know that distant whisper that grows to a thunderous roar with the arrival of the monthly bills! Money, money, money, and more money! It changes the minds of so many early retirement prognosticators, and keeps them on the treadmill until the plug is pulled. So just a little more will always do! We all must continue to Live the Dream!

It was very much a gift! I'm fortunate enough to have the best two part time jobs in the multi-verse! Farmer and Commercial Aviator! I'm not senior enough to insure I'm the last guy back, but it looks like I'll get my cash crops in the ground prior to taking to the skies again.

SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED. I stopped flying way before ExTO was thought of because quite frankly I became a chicken little and was convinced the Zombie Apocalypse was coming. Then I "got it" and decided it wasn't sh!t, felt really embarrassed by my initial reaction, then the China Virus had it's 2nd chance with me and I was on life support for 5 days! All despite having no high risk factors. The type of farming I do is more hands on / organic, and working shoulder to shoulder with migrant workers was like diving into a swimming pool of COVID-19 virus solution every day, despite all the precautions we took. Most have significant others who work in other areas of ag processing at places where the risk is much higher. Factor in the way they all live together and ride together to work. Nothing short of a COVID nuclear bomb scenario.

Aside from all the above, we purchased more land, set up more rental land, the new grain handling system and new heated shop are going together as we speak, and we have a 2 year back log of organic grain, feed, seed, protein products and produce. Two new to us big green tractors, a new million dollar combine on the way, made 180% on commodities investments, and are in talks for being part of a reality TV show on the Carbon Network. My wife and I are expecting in May.

GOD HELP THE POOR FO's that have to fly with me when I get back! I don't talk politics, religion, or company, but wow has a lot happened this past year!

Wow, scary stuff. I too had it and it was not something I would ever want to experience again. Hope you’re feeling better. See you on the line when you get back.
