Bringing this back up to the top to hear the experiences of those who have been brought back or may currently be in training. I think the recalls were for June and July. I opted to bypass these recalls but I'm curious what others may be observing or hearing at the training center.
I think there are 495 or so still out on EXTO and I've seen there is a fair amount of open time available and I've heard rumors of JA assignments.
What's the real story in the trenches? Curious if we can expect another recall when the backlog in Dallas has thinned or if it will be a while for the next recall. Part of me wants to stay out and another will be happy to get back to stronger paychecks and getting out of the house.

Yup. I was on vacation last week and STILL got a Premium 3 day trip. Time to recall the EXTOS.

I’m on day three of a four day. I had three different captains yesterday alone. They are JAing the left seat as well as the right.
Open time in PHX is at levels I haven’t seen since pre-Covid.
ELITT trips were actually in there this month.
The Hawaii ops are being tripled.
Hell, even airport restaurants are trying to recall.
Hiring team email is confirmed—and deadline for applicants is June 18, which tells me interviews are going to start soon.

But that’s the way it’s suppose to be. Premium was readily available in the summer. That’s why the union is screaming about over staffing and what it does. Like when times are bad you furlough. Where if you run lean you don’t worry about that.

Your guess is as good as mine. I'd be willing to bet the options we exercised are growth. I'd also be willing to bet we delay some retirements so we could have options in case things don't go as planned and then we do a little more fleet renewal instead. Again, just a guess.
Edit: Latest SWALife post from MV about these orders says we will retire 30-35 -700s annually over the next 10-15 years. So it does sound like 30-35 are for growth.
