Our sick bank is an earned benefit. Use it or lose it. There’s No trophy at the end. If you get JA’d and miss an obligation, that’s on you.

Im glad Swapa is pushing for a way to make those who want the money to have a “pick me” option visible to CS so that guys like Zap are left alone without the added stress. For every guy who doesn’t want it, I’m sure there are 2 who do.

I think that's the best way to handle it. A selection in CWA that allows you to volunteer for additional flying, or pass. Just like the reserve fly/pass preference.

Some weeks extra money would be awesome! Others I have plans that can't be easily changed. Calling in sick just passes the buck to some other poor schlep. Voluntary participation is the way to go.

Amen. JA’s, reroutes, move-ups. I thrive off that $h!t. As I explain to people I fly with:

Maximum $ signs from the time I check in to the time I’m release. I’m here to make money and nothing makes me happier work-wise than a high TFP credit to days worked ratio.

This is true. But... I have kids and I have a life outside of work. If nothing is going on, I love getting JAd. If I have plans I immediately come down with a case of Oopsie Poopies and that's never pretty.
