Ask your friend what his plan is to get to 1600 trips in his sick bank.
It is grossly irresponsible of him to drop below that 1600 trip level; even if he's on probation.
Any pilot with less than 1600 trips in their sick bank is not a team player and must be former Airtran.

Money is money clowns. Zero sick bank = I have money, 1600 sick bank = someone else has MY money. Learn how to handle Your money, dont let bojo no show hold it. Jesus Christ. There is no reason to bank sick time.

Why I’ve been banking mine…..why use it now when it’ll be worth a lot more in a short amount of time. It’s like having a Delorian and getting a good stock tip. Just gotta wait for the big return before cashing out.

If it’s like what UAL has….it’s sorta like a HSA where you can invest in funds and use it for medical expenses when you retire.

its a good program but I dont want to lose my sick time for it. I think they want to buy back some time and put it in that instead of cash.
I think whatbweve asked for is that 401k excess or PS excess be able to go into that. Of which I woukd agree to.

Of course they don't. Our sick leave balances are a liability. They're trying to take 995 million dollars that our sick leave balances are now worth, and make us pay for any new improvements out of that.
