Jumpseat Question
#13
The above information is incorrect. You can jumpseat on Southwest, and travel in the cabin without a passport. You just need your employee id, pilot's certificate, and FAA Medical. There is a procedure in our OPS Binder that deals with this situation. Now, if the CSA knows this procedure, that is a different question. I would arrive early at the gate to give yourself plenty of time in case there are holdups. Good Luck!

CASS does not require passport. SWA does. I JS on WN, NK, UA, or F9 every time I go to and from work for 10 years now. Did DL and AA too. UA either gov ID or tell them your birthday. DL & AA gov ID. Nk & F9 just company ID. SWA, full passport or no go, regardless of up front or in the back. Maybe it is not the rule, but it is the reality.....

OK fair enough, I guess there are some niche situations that it does matter. I just can't see an airline changing their manuals/policies for rare instances this might arise.
Indeed, that would be an issue 2 weeks out of every 10 years although you could go to a passport agency and have it done same day. Fairly certain most companies even pay for that.
