Really, we have not invested in tech, we have put patches on programs and tried to do things internally and cheap.

Put this on another thread, meant to post it here:
We still communicate fuel loads with bungee cords and plastic tubes and verify it face-to-face, because it saved two minutes thirty years ago. Pax counts are electronic and all the ops agent has to do is verify with the FAs, but we use napkins. We already have the systems in place and operating to discontinue those and many other antiquated procedures, but we’re SWA.
We have the ability to use electronic releases with all crew names on them and sign for the flights via ACARS, but again, SWA. And so many other changes can be implemented as we already have much of the IT in place but we just can’t pull the trigger.

Just finished OE, and thinking about jumping ship. The long term repercussions of this will not be good. Always wanted to be at SWA, and they got us super drunk on the kool aid during training, but this is definitely not what I (thought) I signed up for.
