Default Retro pay if resign

On the last contract does anyone know if retro pay ( or if the company calls it bonus pay) was paid to people who resigned? I know it’s all negotiated and usually retirees, people on medical also get retro since the contract was amendable but how about if someone resigns? Does it matter if you resign for personal reasons or go to another airline?

I just resigned myself. I called SWAPA to ask this and was told on the last contract people that resigned did not get retro pay. Only retirees did. So hopefully we get lucky and they negotiate retro for retirees in the new contract.

I don’t think that is correct. Anyone who turned a wheel during the amenable period was paid. This is directly from the LOA.

Also, from the 8/29/16 email blast "We Have Reached an AIP", under highlights they have their plain language interpretation:
  • 100% retro based on 3/4/4% (2013,14,15). Retro paid for retirees, deceased, and Pilots no longer with SWA. The Company will call it a "Ratification Bonus"

However, in the 4/7/23 email blast "Another Week Wasted":

Ratification Bonus Letter of Agreement(RB LOA)
SWA due to counter. SWAPA proposed a Ratification Bonus letter of agreement when we updated our Compensation proposal about a year ago. It is modeled after the 2016 ratification bonuscalculated based on annual rates from 2020 until ratification. Our RB LOA applies to all current Pilots and those who have retired since the amendable date. SWAPA understands that we cannot allow any bonus less than full retro because we cannot reward management’s delay tactics.

I missed that. Seems they are going a different direction this time.
