Default Retro Pay Question

As far as retro pay is concerned, I realize that Alpa will be taking dues out of the 18%. My question is: If you are getting the 15% retirement contribution in pay now because you have reached the 415c limit, does Alpa deduct dues out of the retirement contribution portion of the retro check? I wouldn't think so but I don't know for sure.

After you hit the 415 limit the excess comes as ordinary income. ALPA takes their cut.

It would be interesting to know exactly how big ALPA's "retro check" is going to be.

Mega million$ -- all dumped into the black hole in Herndon.

Its seriously time to lower our dues rate.

You mean their retro calculator online doesn't have this feature built in?

18% of $3.5B payroll is $630M

1.95% of $630M retro is $12,285,000.

$12M(ish) is my guess.

OR

Per ALPA $562.3M value add for 2016 which is retro pay.

1.95% of $562.3M is $10,964,850.

At least $11M

That's a good question. I don't like the answer on here.

What's the best way to calculate retro? The DALPA site asks for avg hours flown (who knows that?)

I'm thinking:
[Nov 30 "FLT ADV" plus NOV 15 "FLT PAY" (both YTD)] x 18%

I think that's a fair guess.
I was going to say $10 million just as a wag.
What is ALPA going to do with $10 or $12 mil of windfall money?
I suppose the lawyers will find a way to get it. They always do.

Either that or there's gonna be one helluva Christmas party up there in DC this year.

Thank You Delta Pilots !!!

piggybacking on this retro question - will those of us who were on training pay still receive some sort of retro check?
