With the announcement of the BNA domicile, what is the historic trend regarding initial bids/manning etc? As in has WN historically displaced pilots to staff the base?
Im guessing the base will staff itself, but as a junior upgrade and near bottom of the list in my domicile I’m a little apprehensive about the opening.
Thoughts?

I've been here for LAS, DEN then LAX opening (oh yeah, ATL too). If memory serves: they will move 10-20 pilots per seat from other domiciles. I would guess, MDW, BWI (& to a lesser extend ATL) would absorb most of the vacancies.
Something like:
MDW -30 / -30
BWI -30 / -30
ATL -20 / -20
HOU, DAL, DEN ... -10 ~ -15 per seat. ...
But I bet almost all of the current BNA commuters are out of MDW, BWI, ATL & DEN (maybe HOU too). If so, pilots will not be displaced to BNA, but the most junior could to any of the other domiciles loosing seats.
In my opinion, it'll open small 100-150ish per seat, then grow from there. There was a SWAPA blast about there being 190ish pilots wihin 200 miles of BNA; though, just saw a blog about there being 169 within 100 miles.
Lastly, TN is a great tax state. Like MCO tends to stay senior, as pilots move south to retire. I bet BNA will start taking from future MCO transplants, and will be one of our most senior domiciles.
Worth what you paid for it.

Lounges are a nice place to reduce your takeoff weight away from the chaos of the terminal. That’s about my only use for them. As far as the timeline is concerned, as someone considering a move to Nashville, it’s good to have some time to explore options before the base opens and the clock starts ticking on a paid move. Q2 opening is good for finishing school year and for summer moves too. Now if I was a local commuter, I’d have a different opinion.
