epic troll post it seems
got everyone real worked up

its because everyone is already spending the retro check and is champing at the bit to vote yes.
Months ago when the company put out the pay scale everyone scoffed at the rates and now the rumored rates are barely anymore and everyone is asking how soon to vote yes.
I get we're all over this being dragged out but in the morning after the vote I dont want to have to do a walk of shame because I made a bad decision the night before.

If we are going to be industry leading career compensation, rates (FO and Captain) need to be somewhere between 757 and true widebody rates (A350) to account for the reality that our pilots have no opportunity to move to the higher widebody payscales. This would also help compensate for our long upgrade times. Even if everything else in a proposed contract is good, 757 rates would be a hard no for me.

This is true. While we've been going back and forth about this supposed rate, we hopefully can all agree (and I know pollyannas don't) that just above 75 rate is entirely too low for both seats. Unfortunately, I know what this group will do. They do it every time. Come back in 3-4 weeks and prove me wrong. Hopefully when it's all said and done, the yessies will at least have the stones to own up to what they did.

What makes 757 rate too low, or too much, or even the target? Sure, gives us something to shoot for, but then as the end game, I’d rather look at this from this perspective…. what does an ADG-only paying or equivalent trip pay here vs. OAL’s?

If a Delta 757 captain flew a min paying rigged 4 day that earned him 8k, and we did the same, what’s the pay difference? Then start adding other things…. rates in and of itself may or may not mean as much once we have the big picture.

well you definitely picked the right airline then. I mean if you were expecting wodebody pay, first thing that pops into my mind is "I should apply at a discount LCC that only flies 737s" 🤣🤣🤣

Funny thing is. When many were hired they made more than WB pay.

Who said they had no issues with the FO pay before? Nice ASSumption!

Is this a serious question? The voted rates mean anyone who voted yes must have been OK with FO’s lagging.

Hence the importance of the work rules and soft money way more so than just rates…. hence undecided.

Didn't say I was expecting widebody pay. I said that I expect career compensation at SWA to be as much or more than the industry leaders. Be it a 20, 30, or 40 year career.

That wasn’t the argument I was responding to. I wasn’t here to understand the reasoning behind an FO voting yes.
