If they get industry leading pay, I think they should have to do industry leading work. Like serving meals. Premium cabin service. Hot towels. You name it. I can’t fathom how a United FA who provides white glove service, hot meals on china, ice cream sundaes, pre-departure beverages, etc to their business class passengers earns less than ours.

Good catch. Anybody talk to a rep and find out if they’re pre-planning for a meeting to vote to make an AIP into a TA? Or if this is for road shows? Have to imagine they wouldn’t start road shows until after Christmas if they don’t make it a TA until the 19th. If they’re going to be in January it would be nice to know for bidding.

1000 FAs would take about 10 minutes of an application window being open and 2 weeks of training to get the new ones on line . This is a no brainer , our product sucks and some of the problems are an easy fix.

What day do you think we will get the AIP has been reached? I'm thinking sometime next week? Do you think the board is being briefed on most of the sections now? So when they get called back it will just be a day or so meeting before sending it out as a TA? Wondering if there is a push by SWA to have this signed before the end of the year? Is there any benefit to anyone for getting this done by January?
If voted in, any pay rate/NEC increase will be retroactive to Jan 1.

I beleive it was the MCO rep ST that said education and voting can run concurrently.

It CAN....but they said they likely won't. They want plenty of time to educate everyone via email, pdf, road shows, podcasts, etc before vote starts. Least that's what they said at the DEN picket over beers.

That has to be the unscheduled BOD meeting to present the AIP. No other explanation for that. It's too soon to be anything else.
