The suggestion to not have a TV in the lounge is a great one. I used to sit way across the room in Dallas or Phoenix with my Samsung phone with its IR blaster and turn the channel constantly to Disney, or Home Shopping Network, etc. I was really good at casually flipping within seconds of the real remote operator turning on whatever stupid football game they were trying to bombard the ready room with. Or golf. Ugh. Ridiculous.

[QUOTE=CA1900;3754886]Every time one of the talking-head "news" channels comes on, I'd be switching it to The View out of spite.
Yeah, I'm all for pulling the TVs out. Or cancel DirecTV and replace it with a Hulu subscription.[/
Why not just play the Debbie does Dallas series?

Too funny. I loathe MSM "news" and am really not interested in other folks favorite sports teams etc.
When I spent time in the lounges, I'd change the channel to something interesting (stupid movie, like Joe Dirt, Batchelor party etc).
Every 5 minutes, someone would come in and say "are you watching this", to which I'd reply yes. A second or 2 later, they'd say "do you mind if I change it?", to which I'd rely, yes again. A few minutes later "this is really stupid!" to which I'd reply yes........
When I was done watching, I'd turn the sound down, put on the Hallmark Channel or somesuch, hide the remote and then sit back watch the real show. Hilarity ensued as folks went crazy walking around like tweakers looking for the remote, to get their fix of Megan Kelly.......
As for the schoolmarms whining about Fox News, I don't watch it either, but it's not because it makes me want to go to the crying room. I'm just sick of hearing any so called "news." But your version of it is a thousand times worse.
