Math is absolute. In December 2019 we had 10,000 pilots+/-. TODAY we have officially 11,351 pilots. A net gain of 1,351 pilots. That is the ABSOLUTE delta (change). Doesn't matter how you "feel" about moving up or how many pilots took various seperation offers. To calculate the percent change, divide the new number by the old number. This yields a positive change of 13.51%. Now divide 13.51% by the time change (Approx. 4 yrs.) equals 3.37%. The 2.8% is taking into account VSP and "paper bidders". Regardless, the growth is pitiful.
However, not sure why the overall numbers matter, when I bid based on realtive senoirty. Sounds like I'd be in the same relative position at AA as I would be here based on the same hire date.

The fact hes using Myseniority and not the actual CWA seniority list shows some errors there anyhow.
11659 pilots currently on it and thats not including the 29 that started today.
But yeah I was a 2019 hire and now bid something like 70 percent system wide.

I think this is a big "it depends" on the persons qualifications etc. If they are going to hire less than originally planned I could see the hiring mins being raised which may put some of those previously invited now under the threshold.

Spot on. I flew with a CA last week who has been on the interview team for quite some time and he said the new internal minimums have gone up. It has always been a sliding scale and as of right now the mins are rising. Who knows when it will swing back the other direction. Change is the only constant in this industry.
