EXTO? Maybe for ground ops. They won't offer more than maybe a month or two off via LOA for us, which is exactly what they used to do in the 2010s during slow times. They have already admitted EXTO was a pain because of the training footprint it created.
Yes, they already admitted they are cutting the schedule but he schedule in place was depending on aircraft deliveries. Seems like they can at least maintain current capacity with some creative maintenance practices.

They can’t do anything without SWAPA approval.

It's been six months since I went through sims in initial training, but I had several sim instructors tell me that they recomended letting the autopilot do the work as much as possible to make thigns easier, especially in the sims. I ignored them and hand flew as much as possible on every take off and every approach, within reason. I see the sim as a valuable opportunity to work on scans, crosschecks, and my mind's ability to interpret what is going on, often under high workload. Why on earth would I not do that in a pure training environment?
I was chastised for hand flying the sim "too much" in newhire training.

when asked Lee said they are looking at those options but wouldn't know more till after Monday.
per a friend in upgrade class
Said they want to push the operation hard for summer to get.most flying as possible out of the planes then in the fall there will be cuts to the schedule and we wont need everyone.

It turned into a pain because they waited too long to bring people back, and when they did..... they realized they had less than 100 instructors in the sim building.

EXTO saved the company a billion dollars because the Feds paid for it. It would be counter-productive to exto pilots for a month or two, which is what they need to do. They will offer no pay leave of absences. Mark my words.
