How is this going to be expensive? Based on one's years of service with AT, their pay will be in the ballpark of what a Capt. currently makes at AT.

How about 5 years from now? Meh, forget it, this discussion is going around in circles. You (obviously) young guys see this as a great deal, and fail to realize that this is a one time good deal. When you have become accustomed to that payscale, and realize that you aren't going anywhere, I sincerely hope that you can still be as excited as you are right now. I somehow doubt that you will be, but if you are.. good for you.

So according to your philosophy, all Capt's who have topped out are miserable because they have become accustomed to their pay scale?

yeah and to have a job in this economy with a pay raise is something people are forgetting. How many people are getting jobs with a pay raise? Pretty arrogant attitude to have when you think of the thousands of pilots without jobs that would do anything to be in the same position, but hey, to each their own.

yeah and to have a 12% raise in seniority this economy is something people are forgetting. How many people are getting jobs with a pay AND seniority raise? Pretty arrogant attitude to have when you think of the thousands of pilots with those jobs that would lose the upward growth that their company brings to a merger, but hey, to each their own.
