The irony in that statement is staggering. They don't want leaders, they want weak minded sycophants that still buy into the LUV culture farce. Dallas is in dire need of a wake up call. Job security here is second to none, the rest is smoke and mirrors.

I think the NGPA scholarship goes to dudes... Just saying.

As for people not showing up for classes they also said that was false.
They have no plans to get rid of the 1000 PIC.
All directly said from Rockey who is THE head guy for pilot recruiting.
However he also said in about 5 years they, and all the other airlines, are going to have trouble finding pilots.
He's not completely accurate about new hires not showing up to class IMHO. There have been a few no shows just based on odd numbers showing up on the MSL like 17 in a class that should have 24, this is just one example that I've seen lately. Some are not showing prior to class, and some are leaving for legacies after they have begun training. This has been consistently happening for the past year or so.

Did anyone else end up getting the WAI/hiring window email by the end of the week?

I'm sure that having the type rating doesn't hurt with the scoring of the app though. The box is still there to be checked on pilot credentials after all.
Sorry but this is hard to believe.

They "prefer those without the type?" This seems like a trolling statement.

The SWA initial course in my opinion is not designed for those without a type rating.

The type rating is huge. Let me know when a class is held with the majority not having a type and I may change my opinion.

I'm just repeating what Rocky said at one of the SWA job briefings at WAI. Those that were there can also verify this.

I did on the 24th. This is my first nibble and SWA is my #1, so I'm super excited.
