TFP = trips for pay.
It's best not to get your head wrapped around what it is.. (the time it takes to fly from HOU to DAL with a bump for long flights..)
Just think of it as the multiplier. Instead of $80 per HOUR, it would be $80 per TFP. What you call it really doesn't matter.
Take your 67.32 and figure out how much you want to fly a month. Five 3 day trips? That would pay 97.5 TFP minimum (due to the rigs) so 97.5 x $67.32 = 6,563.70
Add a couple extra days from the company - remember picking up open time pays at Year 2 rates - that quickly adds another $1300 or so. You can see how it will add up quickly.
Last month I picked up two legs while my kid was at school. One flying leg, and one deadhead. 90 minutes of block time. Because of the rig it paid $860. All before my kid got home from school. If you live in base making extra money is easy.
The down side to all of this is that during summer and holidays the company is quick to extend you or junior-assign you into a day off. This can be lucrative but when you miss your daughter's piano recital all of the money in the world doesn't make it better.
