Dude, Dudeness, El Duderino - Letters of Recommendation become important at the decision board, which will take place 2-3 weeks after you interview. Recommend you call/email everyone you know at SWA and have them submit a LOR on your behalf electronically via swalife.com. Better to have LOR's from as many different pilot bases as you have friends at; the more chief pilots that have positive feedback on you, the more likely to get the overall thumbs up and a call.

Also doesn't hurt to have a few handy for your personnel panel interview along with your resume. I wouldn't hand the LOR's to the panel without being asked, but if they do ask, nice to have a couple. I was asked at my interview if I had any LORs and was able to provide them.

Good luck!

Quick question to those who have gone before.

Regarding the three required LORs.... if you have all three submitted internally via SWAlife is there any requirement to hand carry paper copies? The instructions seems to indicate it's one option or the other. Thanks.

They all end up in the same file. You can do either/or/both. I did both.

I had my application in since January, and had April 1st as my availability date and available now since then.

Default Document Instructions Form missing

For those that have received an invitation to interview; SWA references a "paperwork instructions document" that should be in the Hiring Forms tab. Is anyone else missing this form? Or can someone PM with a copy?

Thanks for the help.

Yep, that is missing as is the latest copy of the Sterling consent form. But they will email you some of the missing paperwork as you get closer to the big day.

The wait time is rather flexible from my experience.

From date of notification that you're hired, it ranged from 2 weeks to a little over 6 weeks.

They were quite nice in offering whatever fit into our situation. I'd imagine you could tell them you want to come asap and be placed on a wait list of sorts as well.
