Gatorhog and/or anyone else whose received the invite, I meant to ask this at the 22nd April Event, but spaced it and the pilot interviewer I did my one on one with didn't say anything. On your SWA pilot credentials page where you upload your resume, did you also have copies of all of your certs uploaded there? I currently only have my Resume and letters of rec there. Had been told the certs weren't necessary that they'd verify in person at the interview.

Thank you! JL...I know that was kind of rhetorical but I said the same thing after several friends got the email. Excitement immediately followed by disbelief immediately followed by "oh crap this is happening and I'd better not screw it up." Same for everyone else I know. I have a lot of faith that as we get deeper into the hiring wave with literally thousands retiring every year across the majors, almost everyone will get a shot. Maybe that's a little naive but I tend to be an optimist.

Exactly. Can't see why it would matter since they're going to have you bring proof of all of that stuff to your interview, anyway. And I'm pretty sure if they wanted that stuff they'd make it clear on the app. But if you're even a little worried about it, just do it. May not help but it won't hurt. And then you always have copies available to reference at any time just by logging in to your profile.

No need to upload your certs. Bring them with you to the interview. They'll ask for them there.

Has anyone who has a June interview had issues with setting up travel using the new ePass reservation number? I've had zero success thus far in getting the positive space ticket arranged.

I noticed they also got rid of the hiring form which explains how to schedule your flight (the old way). Thanks.

SWA hires its pilots via the third party "Pilot Credentials". Pilot Credentials works by a "numbers" system and not a "People" system as SWA says they do. Applicants are chosen by computer by a point system, ie one point for 1,000hrs PIC, one point for a degree, etc. Of course non of us know what or how many of those points are. Keep in mind SWA is not the only airline that uses this system which is needed because of the large amount of qualified applicants. My only comment is don't tell me as an airline that you hire "people". You don't. You hire "numbers" just like AA, DAL, UAL. SWA is a great airline with great people, but after the Airtran buyout SWA has become just another MAJOR airline like the rest of the Legacies regarding how they hire pilots. Good luck to all applicants. Fly safe.

Gang, I understand the frustration. I missed roughly 2 years of seniority because I was on a long trip with my then-current job that I couldn't peel off from. But here I am now... the point is - don't lose hope.

Secondly, yes, we do hire people. If you make it to the interview, it's yours to lose as there's no quotas or interviewing 12 that day for 3 slots... they can hire all 12 or not one in that batch.

I'll believe in pilot shortage when we dump systems like pilotcredentials where the computer is the one that chooses who gets invited to interview.
